We've been using some Children at Play safety signs while our kids are out front playing with balls. The corner (Inglewood/Woodbury) makes visibility difficult. Apparently it has annoyed another residence, and a phonecall was made to the police. (Seriously?!?) The police reluctantly came to our house today to notify us of the complaint and inform us we technically can not use them any longer. Both officers were unhappy and apologetic as they delivered the message. They said they understand why parents use them and feel they are great tools for keeping kids safe while playing. However, because someone filed a complaint we can no longer use them. Surely whoever was inconvenienced enough to call the police doesn't realize we have a child with special needs. It's not likely the caller will read this post, but I do feel better writing it.

And if anyone happens to know who complained, please pass along this information.
